About Us
Ramamangalam.com is an initiative of the Team IEDC (Innovators and Entrepreneurs Development Centre) at the Ave Stella Maris College, Ramamangalam, Piravom. IEDC is an initiative of Kerala StartUp Mission to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students. This initiative is designed under the IEDC Scheme named LEAP (Local Entrepreneurship Advancement Programme). Being an initiative aimed at local empowerment, we design an active local model to brand and promote the tourism destination Ramamanagalam thereby boosting local economy. The initiative is community driven, local economy focuses, and promotes responsible and sustainable tourism concepts.
About Ramamangalam
Sandwiched between Kolenchery, Muvattupuzha and Piravom in Ernakulam, Ramamangalam is the first sports tourism village in India blessed with abundant natural resources and scenic sporty locations. Away from the hustle, this virgin village is located in the district of Ernakulam and around 30 kms from Kochi. Lying on the banks of Ramamagalam river, all the wards of the panchayat are touched by the breathtaking views of the river. The place is also is known for being the birthplace of renowned musician Shadkala Govinda Mararar, a contemporary of Saint Tyāgarāja and Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma, singing in the six degrees of geometric speed earned him the title Ṣaṭkāla. Beyond, Ooramamana-the village of manas (ancient ancestral homes)) is situated in Ramamangalam. About IEDC
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) is an initiative of Kerala StartUp Mission (KSUM) with an aim to provide students with an opportunity to experiment and innovate considered, which is considered as an umbrella programme that would play an instrumental role in fostering innovation culture in Academic institutions.IEDC has been set by the Kerala Startup Mission across various institutions in the State which provide avenues for creative students to learn, collaborate and transform their innovative ideas into prototypes of viable products and services. IEDCs works as the first launch pad for a student’s entrepreneurial journey and provide them with access to cutting edge technology, world-class infrastructure, high-quality mentorship, early risk capital and global exposure.
About Ave Stella Maris College
Ave Stella Maris College, a self-sustaining Arts & Science College affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, was established in 2014 with the vision of overall development of students. The institution was founded by noted Human Resources Development professional Adv. Arun Paul Kunnil, an alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management and ILS Law College, Pune, with decades of experience in India and abroad. The core leadership team includes Er. Emmy Arun (Director), Rev. Dr. Abraham Mulamoottil (Principal Advisor), Dr. Paul V Mathew (Principal) and a dedicated academic fraternity. About Sports Tourism Project
The idea of Sports Tourism village is to make Ramamangalam a low-carbon sporting and tourism destination by piecing together community sports hubs. The concept of a sports tourism village was mooted at the Ramamangalam sustainable development discussions initiated by Ave Stella Maris College, Kizhumuri. It also aims at community development by offering entrepreneurship and job opportunities to the local community. We believe that through organising sports tourism activities there will be a generation of employment and opportunity to start small businesses associated with tourism and sports. The program also encourages low investment projects planned in a nature-friendly manner. Furthermore, this project goes hand in hand with the conservation of ecology and heritage and to work towards imparting physical, intellectual and emotional fitness to the entire community. The stakeholders of the project are Ramangalam grama panchayat and LSGs, SMRI, local clubs, MPs, MLAs, DTPC, Department of Sports and the residents. Students of Ave Stella Maris College and local community members are trained to organise village tours and other sports tourism activities.

Dr.Paul V Mathew - Chief Mentor
Dr.Paul is a project management professional having more than a decade experience in the development sector. Being a person with substantial stint in the tourism and developmental sector, he has been instrumental in developing various entrepreneurial concepts. Dr.Paul was the State Team Lead of Responsible Tourism Initiatives of Government of Kerala. He is an educationist, happiness coach, trainer and consultant. He is the Principal of Ave Stella Maris College.
Avd. Arun Paul Kunnil, Chairman Ave Stella Maris College
A committed development enthusiast who is stearing various activities of Sports Tourism Projects in Ramamangalam. Completed his Master’s in Human Resources Management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) and Bachelor’s in Law (LL.B) from ILS Law College, Pune, he has more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources Management, Learning & Development domains. Utilising the insights gained through his long professional career and networking with industry leaders, he aims to tackle competency requirements the industry expects and guide young job aspirants through it.
E P George President, Ramamangalam Grama Panchayath
An active social worker and people representative leading various developmental programmes in the region. George is also an advocate of the de addiction campaign in association with Medical College Kolenchery. Being the president of grama panchayath, Mr.George coordinates tourism development activities at the local level.
George P Daniel (Retired SI and Traveller)
An avid traveller who visited around fifty countries. A retired sub inspector of police, Mr. George is a passionate traveller and enthuses lots of people to follow his way. He is an active mentor and supporter of the tourism development initiatives of Ramamangalam. George is also a member of the Ramamangalam Tourism Development Society.
Christo C Chandy – Core Team Member
Christo C Chandy is a social mobilizer and administrator with significant immersion to grassroots. Having post graduation in Commerce, Christo has outstanding people skills and office management expertise. He is a Nodal officer of IEDC and Administrator at Ave Stella Maris College. His deep interest in community development and people engagement helped him to play an active role in the outreach functions of IEDC and the college. Christo is the coordinator of National Service Scheme, Sports Tourism Village, Happiness School Projects, Sports Club, and various other groups for social causes. Being a helping hand Christo provides active support and resources to individuals and families in all ways possible. As a dynamic social performer in Ramamangalam panchayat, the presence of Christo is felt in the community and especially among youths.

Rixon Antony CA, IEDC Nodal Officer of Ave Stella Maris College Ramamanagalam. He is pursing Msw and He is very much interested in social workers. He is dynamic and unique helping profession rich with significance action and the power to make a difference for individuals, families, groups and communities.

She is a 2nd-year BCom graduate at Ave Stella Maris College Ramanagalam and an energetic member of IEDC. She has the excellent interpersonal ability and guest service skills to be able to interact with internal and external clients in a professional manner.
Sonu Joshy- Head, Marketing
He is a final year student of Ave Stella Maris College, Ramanagalam and a dynamic member of the IEDC cell. He is a Dedicated sports professional with a history of meeting tourist goals utilizing consistent and organized practices.

He is a final-year BCom student with an aptitude to build sustainable relationships with tourists. He is passionate about acquiring professional and technical knowledge by attending training workshops.

She is a student of Ave Stella Maris college and an active member of Ave Stella Maris college. she supervises visitors’ activities ensuring compliance with tour protocols and safety procedures.

He is a second-year BCom student of Ave Stella Maris college Rammanagalam and an active member of the IEDC club. He works in a friendly manner and creates a close-knit and positive team environment.
